This week we talk about the origins of pairing coffee and alcohol, from 800 A.D to the 1980s. We discuss the most common brands, some fantastic budget picks, and provide a recipe to create your own!
Homemade Coffee Liqueur:
1c Strong Cold Brew
1/2c Dark Brown Sugar
1/2c Water
1c Alcohol*
1 Vanilla Bean Sliced
Create a simple syrup with the water and sugar, remove from heat add in cold brew, alcohol, and vanilla bean, sit for 1-2weeks.
*try any alcohol! We suggest Rum, Bourbon, Brandy, or aged tequila)
But First, Coffee:
1.5oz tequila
1oz esspresso
.75oz coffee liqueur
.5oz cola syrup
(optional) top with soda
(garnish) mint sprig
Salted Caramel Stimulant:
3oz coffee liqueur
1.5oz gin
1.25tsp caramel sauce
(garnish) rim with caramel and sprinkles
